LAA does not obtain or store any investor’s complete financial information. The only information that is visible to LAA is the last four digits of the account or credit card number and the expiration date for credit cards.
DATA WE TRACK
In order to better understand who is investing in LAA and how, we track the following data points:
Source of investment (i.e. credit card, EFT, cash, or check)
Method of investing (i.e. online - mobile, desktop, or tablet, or in-person)
Investment amount
Investment frequency
Geographic location of investors
HOW WE USE INFORMATION
LAA never discloses or sells any personal information. Besides using this information to process financial investments, LAA uses this information to maintain communication with investors to keep them informed about the impact of their investment. This information is also used to provide investors with tax receipts for deductions, both per transaction and year-end.
HOW WE USE DATA
LAA uses data to create a profile of the average investor. By understanding who our mission resonates with, we can more effectively improve fundraising strategies.
SECURITY
LAA processes all online financial transactions through the online software GivingFuel. GivingFuel uses encryption, firewalls and other technology and security procedures to help protect the accuracy and security of personal information and prevent unauthorized access or improper use. All online financial transactions are processed through a 256-bit SSL secure server.
